If you’re looking for a great event to attend this summer close to our Woodside apartments, the 2011 US Open Championship is certainly one of the most prestigious and exciting events to check out in the Washington D.C. area.

The PGA tournament makes its way to Bethesda, Maryland this week for the golf world’s championship, and the action takes place not too far from Woodside apartments, only about 37 minutes from our apartments community.

Congressional Country Club, located at 8500 River Road in Bethesda, MD, is home to the biggest tournament this year and welcomes some of golf’s biggest names to compete for this year’s championship.

K.J. Choi, Stuart Cink, Fred Funk, Jim Furyk, Sergio Garcia, Zach Johnson, Lee Westwood, Rory McIlroy, and Phil Mickelson will lead the field of this year’s players.

The first-round of the tournament tees off tomorrow, bright and early at 7 a.m. with a full day of exciting golf action and leads into the weekend (June 16-19). Who’s going to win the US Open Championship this year? Are you going to be there to see it?
