Check Out Cock & Bowl Bistro for Something New This Summer

You’ve eaten pizza, pasta, burritos, sushi, and fried won tons this summer. Now you’re looking for restaurants in Lorton, VA, and other towns near our apartments that will give you a culinary treat you’ve never experienced.

The Cock & Bowl, which specializes in Belgian cuisine and beer, is just such a restaurant. Located across the river from Lorton in Occoquan, you’ll find it tucked away on Poplar Alley near the riverfront. All of its dishes are prepared from fresh ingredients on the premises, with specialties such as Belgian frites (potatoes that are fresh cut and cooked twice), mussel bowls, and, of course, Belgian waffles.

While most restaurants have a wine list, the Cock & Bowl features a beer list that includes about 40 beers imported from Belgium and half a dozen Belgian-style beers from the U.S. and Canada. There are also wines from California, Australia, South Africa, and other regions around the world.

The Cock & Bowl is open for dinner Tuesdays through Saturdays, lunch Wednesdays through Saturdays, and brunch on Sundays. Live music accompanies most meals. So when you’re hunting for new restaurants in Lorton, VA, don’t forget to give this one a try.
